The "Ausflug in die Romantik" (trip to the Romantic) is a guided tour with historical costumes and contemporary music, painting and poetry that refers to the Oybin castle. It usually starts in the evening.
The event is to remember those who rediscovered the castle in the 19th century and made it famous again.

The event starts with musical and historical introduction taking place in the Oybin church (Bergkirche) beneath the Oybin mountain before the group is climbing on top of the Qybin mountain. Singing historical songs and saying poems flower woman and poet accompany the group and produce a very authentic atmosphere. It is all about myths and a continuously relation to the present. Arrived in the court of the castle, the painter welcomes the group. He informs the group about famous painters, who painted at the Oybin castle Friedrich, Carus, Thiele for instance, and also about life and work of less famous painters who still influenced the region. Part of his analyze is the work of Thomas, but also own works.

The group continues the trip towards the castle’s graveyard. This is a very mystical place. The low day light let gives spectacular impression to the viewer, which already fascinated our ancestors.
Later the group can enjoy the chamber choir in the ruin of the monastery church lighted by torchlight, which is great experience.
After the chamber choir the group meets for a glass of wine in the court or in the weapon depot. People can share their impressions and talk.
